During the next three Wednesdays, the Hilton Austin will be doing a special summer series at Finn & Porter’s Loft Bar, featuring signature cocktails from their mixologist, along with premium liquors. Representatives from each brand will come in and educate attendees on what they’re having to drink.
July 25 ~ Ciroc Vodka & the Red Berry Cosmo
Aug 1 ~ Locally distilled Tito’s Vodka & the Tito’s French Martini
August 8 ~ 10 Cane Rum & the 10 Cane Daiquiri
Enjoy rum from Trinidad’s sugar cane fields by sampling 10 Cane Rum, or try a French martini made with Austin’s first and oldest legal distillery. Tito Beveridge (yes, that’s his actual name!) continues to make small batches and distills his vodka six times. Tito’s Handmade Vodka can be savored by spirit connoisseurs and everyday drinkers alike. Just like fine single malt scotches and high-end French cognacs, the vodka is micro-distilled in an old-fashioned pot still. This time-honored method of distillation requires more skill and effort than modern column stills, but makes Tito’s one of my personal favorite vodkas.

Greg Freeman
Born and raised in Houston, Freeman received his Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Chemistry from Stephen F. Austin State University in 1989. Since then, he has embarked on a myriad of careers, including a stint in a nuclear chemistry lab, bartending in New Orleans, commercial fishing in Alaska and several years in a traveling African band. He landed at Hahn Estates in July of 2003 working as a lab technician. He has since then become Assistant Winemaker, and now oversees all off-site wine production.
