In its tenth year, the fundraising gala is marked by an electric anticipation for the luminous spark that ignites the Austin social season.
September 10 marks Ballet Austin’s Fête Power of Ten presented by W Austin. As this surging soiree requires two venues and three parts, it’s safe to say it should come with its own warning label.

Act I: Dinner to Dazzle
Prepare to be awestruck by the exclusive catered dinner in the Butler Dance Education Center’s grand Armstrong/Connelly Studio. With only 10 tables available, jump on the opportunity for this delectable event or most likely regret it 10 times over.
Act II: A Decade of Dance
Don’t miss out on an opportunity to celebrate the magic of the arts in a command showcase performance highlighting 10 years with artistic director Stephen Mills in the Austin Ventures Studio Theatre.
Act III: Party of the Decade
The electric current will be transmitted to the Seaholm Power Plant for the final portion of the charged-up affair. Fête10 dinner guests and A Decade of Dance ticket holderscan access the VIP Fête10 Electric Lounge while party guests can enter the stunning grand structure to be electrified with a Flash of Fashion runway show by Neiman Marcus presenting Carolina Herrera, and the swinging beats of Kevin Ahart and his Big Band.
The event marks the beginning of an era for the Power Plant as the historic venue will soon be transformed into a visual tribute to Ballet Austin, featuring projections of 10 years of ballet, grandiose set pieces, props from past productions and food and cocktail lounges themed to notable ballets.
Stephen Mills, Artistic Director
Mr. Mills has created more than 40 works for companies in the United States and abroad. His ballets are in the repertories of such companies as The Atlanta Ballet, Washington Ballet, Cuballet in Havana, Cuba, BalletMet Columbus, The DaytonBallet, The Sarasota Ballet of Florida, Ballet Pacifica, Dallas Black Dance Theater, The Louisville Ballet, The Nashville Ballet, Fort Worth/Dallas Ballet and Kaleidoscope. He has worked in collaboration with such luminaries as the eight-time Grammy Award-winning band, Asleep at the Wheel, and Shawn Colvin. Mr. Mills also serves on the Board of Trustees of the national dance service organization, Dance USA. The 2010/11 season marks Mr. Mills’ 10th anniversary as Artistic Director of Ballet Austin.
