Saturday, October 16th | East Austin Heritage District | 10am-3pm

Come on out on October 16th for a day of fun, family and festivities. Pro Arts Collective, The African American Cultural Heritage District, and the businesses and neighbors of East Austin have teamed up to bring you District Day, a day-long festival located at various sites in central east Austin.

Each of the District Day sites will feature works created by visual artists and artisans, entertainment provided by local musicians, spoken word and performing artists, activities for children, information from service providers and opportunities to talk with your neighbors about some of the latest community development trends in east Austin.

Soul artist Leela James will perform as headliner for this day-long, multi-site festival, bringing her smooth sound and passionate voice to Austin. Opening for Leela James will be Riders Against the Storm (RAS), R&B jazz group All U Need and Austin’s own neo-soul artist, Tje Austin. The concert will be held at “The Deck” an outdoor venue located at 1000 East 11th Street behind newly opened restaurants, 11th Street Station and Zandunga.

Tickets for the Leela James show are available for $15 at the Deck on the day of the show; receive a FREE ticket for every 2 tickets purchased — no presale tickets. All Festival activities at District Day sites are free. If you present a complete festival passport at the gate, tickets are just $5. Passports can be obtained at each of the District Day sites and stamped thoughout the day.

Grab your friends and bring your whole family out for a Saturday celebrating the culture, history, music and people that define East Austin.
