style="text-align: center;">Saturday-Sunday, January 29-30th, 2011 | Cross Creek

Do you think you’re tough enough? Do you have what it takes to compete…in the MUD? Then check out Tough Mudder : Austin Edition. This challenging test of endurance will be held over the course of two days — Saturday, January 29th through Sunday, January 30th, 2011.

The Tough Mudder series was created because there isn’t an event in America that tests toughness, fitness, strength, stamina and mental grit, all in one place, all in one day.

Tough Mudder is also about experiencing a true sense of camaraderie that, sadly, is rarely seen outside of the military these days. To get over some of their obstacles, you will need the help of others — they’re simply too much for one man to tackle alone.

Tough Mudders, unlike some other types of endurance runners, are team players; they help out other Tough Mudders. Everyone to is encouraged to compete, but being a Tough Mudder is also about making sure no man is left behind, not worrying about your finish time.

For participants who have overcome illness, injury or misfortune, there are Tough Mudder Respect Awards, as well as awards for Toughest Mullet and Mohawk in which a free head shave will be provided the day of competition. You can also get complimentary tattoos of the Tough Mudder logo if you think you’re really tough. For further details see here.

There are no monetary prizes at Tough Mudder. However, the top 5% of all finishers will also be given free entry into the World’s Toughest Mudder to be held in 2011.

You can register online by clicking here and your entry fee includes an event t-shirt, tough mudder headbands, a beer, and live music at post event party. Please note that registration ends January 22, 2011.

Launch Party

Events
<guid

Local Cordon Bleu maistros will be dishing the best of the best organic and local palatable eats, while beverages will be provided by Texas wineries and regional breweries.

The Sustainable Food Center dedicates itself to creating opportunities for individuals to consciously make healthier food choices by eating local. The SFC hopes to increase access to locally grown food to help empower Central Texas through interactive cooking classes and nutrition education and organic food gardening. With this, the SFC hopes to improve the long-term health of the environment and Texans alike.

Barr Manison, a strictly organic event facility, will host the event with the help of the Austin staple food market, Wheatsville Food Co-op. <a
