Want to turn your style savvy into a career you love? Whether you want to further your fashion design skills or just learn more about the scholarship competition, join the Art Institute of Austin for their upcoming A Passion for Fashion workshop, Saturday, October 23, 2010.

At the workshop students will be able to learn about fashion’s creative process while expanding on ideas for their Passion for Fashion project. You will get a chance to listen to current Fashion & Retail Management students present a variety of projects, such as trend forecasts, visual merchandising window displays, and retail store plans.

Faculty will be available for discussion and the National winner of the Passion For Fashion Scholarship, Ivy Holland, will talk about her winning project.

Also meet the guest speaker- Launch 787′s Austin Fashion Week Golden Boot winner, Rachelle Briton, as she talks about her career as a stylist and starting her own label.

Rachelle Briton has recently catapulted herself onto the fashion scene. A former freelance stylist for MTV Networks, in 2009 she moved home to Austin to start her signature label Rachelle Briton Designs.

When designing, Rachelle focuses on the daily demands of a woman’s wardrobe: work, cocktail, and evening wear.  Rachel Briton Designs has a growing flock of devotees from trendy college girls to multi-tasking professional women.
